The Basics of a Good Routine

Taking care of your skin is a little more complex than just putting a wet washcloth on your face ... You probably realized it since you arrived on our newspaper! With the wide range of products available in store and on the web, it can be difficult to know which products to use and when to do so. Everyone must have a routine that is adapted to their needs, but the base is the same for everyone, regardless of the type of skin!

Step 1: the cleaner

Twice a day - morning and evening

Rinsing your face with water is not enough to clean your skin. A good, gentle cleanser removes debris, dirt, oil and makeup that has accumulated on your skin. Clean skin will be softer and better absorb the care that will be applied to it.

When cleaning, it is recommended to use warm water so as not to irritate the skin! It is also best to dry your skin by gently tapping with a towel, rather than rubbing.

Step 2: the exfoliating

Once or twice a day - morning and / or evening

Using an exfoliator has the purpose of removing the dead cells that have accumulated on the surface of your skin. A well exfoliated skin will soon appear more radiant, soft and youthful. There are different types of exfoliants, physical and chemical
c. Chemical exfoliants are the least irritating and the most effective.

Small precision, no need to wait until the exfoliant has been completely absorbed before continuing the routine!

Step 3: the moisturizer

Twice a day - morning and evening

Using a moisturizer is intended to provide your skin with the essential elements (antioxidants, anti-irritants, restorative ingredients, etc.) to maintain its structure while strengthening its cellular barrier. A well-hydrated skin will be softer and firmer, and its complexion more even. She will also look younger and healthier. It is important to choose the texture of the moisturizer according to your skin type (dry, oily or normal).

Step 4: sunscreen

One to several times a day - in the morning and repeat as needed

Applying a sunscreen with a minimum SPF index of 30 is the most important step in your routine. It's your long-term investment. Sun rays are the number one cause of premature aging of the skin, not to mention cancer. The damaging rays pass through clouds and windows. That's why, whether it's cloudy, raining or snowing, we put on sunscreen and give it back during the day!

An article that demystifies sunscreens will be available soon.

It is of course possible to supplement your routine with other types of products, which we will eventually discuss, but the important thing is to start from the beginning!
