The Basics of a Good Routine

Taking care of your skin is a little more complex than simply passing a washcloth wet on his face ... You probably realized it since you arrived on our newspaper! With the wide selection of products available in store and on the web, it can be difficult to know what products to use and when to do so. Everyone must have a routine adapted to their needs, but the basis is the same for all, no matter the type of skin!

Step 1: the cleaner

Twice a day - morning and evening

Rinse his face with water is not enough to clean his skin. A good mild cleanser removes debris, dirt, oil and makeup that have accumulated on your skin. A cleaner skin will be softer and better absorb the care that will be applied to it.

When cleaning, it is recommended to use warm water so as not to irritate the skin! It is also best to dry your skin by gently patting it with a towel rather than rubbing it.

Step 2: the exfoliator

Once or twice a day - morning and / or evening

Using an exfoliator has the purpose of removing the dead cells that have accumulated on the surface of your skin. A well exfoliated skin will soon appear more radiant, soft and youthful. There are different types of exfoliants, physical and chemical
c. Chemical exfoliants are the least irritating and effective.

Small precision, no need to wait until the exfoliant has been completely absorbed before continuing the routine!

Step 3: the moisturizer

Twice a day - morning and evening

Using a moisturizer is intended to provide your skin with the essential elements (antioxidants, anti-irritants, repairing ingredients, etc.) to maintain its structure while strengthening its cellular barrier. A well hydrated skin will be more supple and firm, and its complexion more uniform. It will also look younger and healthier. It is important to choose the texture of the moisturizer according to your skin type (dry, oily or normal).

Step 4: the sunscreen

One to several times a day - in the morning and repeat as needed

Applying a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 is the most important step in your routine. This is your long-term investment. Sun rays are the number one cause of premature aging of the skin, not to mention cancers. The damaging rays pass through clouds and windows. That is why, whether it is cloudy, rain or snow, sunscreen is put on and it is put back during the day!

An article that demystifies sunscreens will be available soon.

It is of course possible to complete his routine by other types of products, which we will eventually deal with, but the important thing is to start with the beginning!
